About MAC
The First Specialized Andrology Center
in Egypt and the Middle East
Our Story
From a Clinic in Tanta to a Regional Reference
In 1989, Prof. Khalid Salem, MD/PhD — professor of andrology and male infertility — founded the first specialized andrology center in Egypt and the MENA region, starting from humble beginnings in Tanta and opening the center’s first Cairo branch in 1994.
Years of practice made one gap impossible to ignore: nowhere offered truly comprehensive fertility care for both partners. Patients bounced between clinics, and in most institutions the andrology department existed only to “prepare the husband” for ICSI. That insight drove a major investment in our Cairo headquarters in 2013 — dedicated operating rooms and a complete assisted-reproduction laboratory — and the birth of Misr Reproductive Center (MRC), led by esteemed Cairo University professors of gynecology and obstetrics alongside senior embryology-lab experts.
The new model — treating the couple under one roof — transformed our outcomes and our growth: an Alexandria branch in 2016, New Cairo in 2018, patients from more than 27 countries, and an international expansion now underway in Turkey.

Scientific Leadership
Firsts in Microsurgical Andrology
Our leadership is not a slogan — it is a set of techniques Prof. Khalid Salem introduced to Egypt and the region for the first time, translating into greater precision and fewer complications for our patients.
First Microvascular Doppler in the Region
The first to introduce the microvascular Doppler probe in varicocelectomy in Egypt and MENA — precisely mapping the vessels, preserving the testicular artery, and significantly reducing surgical complications.
microTESE, Exclusively
Among the first to bring the surgical operating microscope to andrology, moving entirely away from conventional TESE to precision micro-dissection (microTESE).
Internationally Published Research
Peer-reviewed publications on varicocele surgery, artery preservation, sperm retrieval, and men’s sexual health.

Our Philosophy
We Treat Fertility — Not Just Perform Procedures
Our mission is to treat fertility at its root, not simply carry out a procedure. We do not start with IVF; we start with the question that matters most: what is causing the problem?
Root-Cause Diagnosis
A meticulous evaluation to identify the real cause of delayed conception — hormonal, vascular, or surgical — before choosing a treatment plan.
Natural Conception First
Hormonal therapy, or precision varicocele surgery that may be followed by hormonal support — our first goal is a natural pregnancy whenever possible.
ART When Needed
If natural conception does not happen, the couple moves seamlessly to IVF / ICSI within our own system — without starting over.
A Globally Rare Model
Misr Reproductive Center (MRC): The Couple Under One Roof
Most fertility institutions worldwide are either IVF-only, or keep an andrology unit whose sole role is preparing the husband for ICSI. Our model is different — and globally rare: a complete andrology center and a complete reproductive center side by side, treating both partners within a single plan.
Comprehensive Fertility Care
Integrated assessment and follow-up of the female side within one unified plan for the couple.
IVF & ICSI
IVF / ICSI programs using the latest scientific protocols and outstanding success rates.
Leading Consultants
Cairo University consultants and professors specialized in gynecology, obstetrics, and assisted reproduction.
Women's Health Specialists
Attentive care that considers the medical and emotional aspects of every stage of the journey.
